2025 Happiness Forum Commences

——Professor Jin Jieqin's Report on the Achievements of the Visit and Exchange to the United States

On the afternoon of September 24th, the 2025 "Happiness Forum" was officially launched at the university library. Professor Jin Jieqin, Director of the Subject Service Center and Research Librarian, delivered an insightful special report titled American Libraries in Diverse Perspectives: A Visit Outcome Report. The library leadership, along with over 50 staff members and faculty members, attended the report.

During the report, Professor Jin Jieqin shared her firsthand experiences from her summer visit to the U.S. as well as feelings and ideas of academic visit life, library visiting and academic research. She provided a comprehensive overview of the latest developments in U.S. university and public libraries, including:

· Architectural styles and research spaces of different U.S. university libraries

· Library special collections construction and exhibition

· Library digital humanities construction

· Library assessment methodologies

· Applications of AI in library


Through case studies of various U.S. university libraries, she explored the missions, visions, strategic planning and actions of modern university libraries, offering valuable insights and suggestions for future library development trends.

This report not only showcased Professor Jin Jieqin's visit achievements but also provided innovative ideas and forward-looking plans for the diversified development of library . Following the presentation, participants engaged in in-depth discussions on current challenges faced by university libraries. The focuses are:

· Building new library service systems

· Campus culture construction

· Reading promotion initiatives

· Subject services and special collections construction

Since 2012, our library has put forward the "Happy Library" concept for the first time and established the "Happiness Forum," hosting numerous specialized reports and lectures across various disciplines. These events have served as platforms for sharing cutting-edge developments, fostering innovative thinking and broadening professional horizons, all of which have demonstrated the commitment of the library to talent cultivation.
